A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES STATEWIDE TARGETED REDUCTIONS IN INITIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE (STRIVE) YEAR 2 GRANT PROGRAM FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $420,417 AND AMENDING THE CITY OF YONKERS GRANT BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2025/2026.

The City of Yonkers hereby ordains and enacts:
Section 1: New York State has authorized State grant funding of $420,417 to the City of Yonkers, acting by and through its Department of Criminal Justice Services (NYSDCJS) towards the Statewide Targeted Reductions in Intimate Partner Violence (STRIVE) Year 2 grant program, which provides funding to the Yonkers Police Department to improve the public safety response to intimate partner abuse and domestic violence and better address the needs of victims.
Section 2: The above constitutes a “Type II” action under SEQRA and its implementing regulations, 6 NYCRR Part 617, which constitute an action determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and therefore requiring no further environmental review.
Section 3: The Mayor of the City or his authorized designee is hereby empowered to execute any and all instruments and take such other actions as may be necessary to effectuate the purposes hereof.
Section 4: The City’s Grant Budget for fiscal year 2025/2026 is hereby amended by increasing revenues and appropriations for the Police Department, as follows:

Section 5: This ordinance shall take effect immediately.
