A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING MARCH 6TH AS EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION DAY IN THE CITY OF YONKERS

WHEREAS, the City of Yonkers is strengthened by the dedication, professionalism, and tireless efforts of its municipal employees who serve our residents with integrity, pride, and commitment; and
WHEREAS, public employees across all departments - including public safety, public works, parks and recreation, education, administration, finance, libraries, sanitation, and community services - work diligently each day to ensure the safety, cleanliness, efficiency, and vitality of our City; and
WHEREAS, the success of the City of Yonkers is directly tied to the hard work, innovation, and perseverance of its workforce, whose efforts often go unseen yet are essential to the daily operations of local government; and
WHEREAS, Employee Appreciation Day, observed nationally on the first Friday in March, provides an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of employees who demonstrate excellence in service to our community; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the City Council pause to publicly acknowledge the extraordinary efforts, resilience, and dedication of City employees who continue to meet the evolving needs of our residents with professionalism and care;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Yonkers hereby proclaims March 6TH, 2026 as Employee Appreciation Day in the City of Yonkers; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council extends its sincere gratitude and appreciation to all City of Yonkers employees for their unwavering commitment to public service and for the vital role they play in enhancing the quality of life for all who live, work, and visit our great City.
