WHEREAS, Under the visionary Leadership of Yonkers City Clerk Vincent Spano and his dedicated Staff, the Yonkers City Clerk's Office took on the challenge of expanding the scope of services provided to include the issuance of United States Passports in partnership with the United States Department of State; and

WHEREAS, in order to do so the Clerk's Office was required to demonstrate compliance with the rigorous recordkeeping, management and administrative standards of the Federal Government; and

WHEREAS, the Yonkers City Clerk's Office collectively rose to the challenge and as of 2022 began processing applications for and issuing United States Passports; and

WHEREAS, since that time the program has been a booming success by providing reliable convenient passport services for Yonkers residents and the public at large while generating additional revenue for the office and the City; and

WHEREAS, the program has become so successful that the Clerk's office has issued over 12,000 passports that has required the expansion of the hours of operation and the space dedicated to the passport Application and issuance process; and

WHEREAS, in a creative and fun initiative to promote the expansion of the Passport Services the Yonkers City Clerk's Office sponsored a competition in order to design a poster that would identify the Office; and

WHEREAS, the competition was open to the students of the Yonkers Public Schools; and

WHEREAS, hundreds of students submitted a variety of beautiful and creative entries thereby...
