RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Yonkers, in meeting assembled:
That the settlement by the Corporation Counsel in the amount of Ten Thousand Dollars and 00/100 Cents ($10,000.00) of the action entitled, “Ronald Sylvester Hynes (residing at 100 Riverdale Ave., Yonkers, Yonkers, New York), plaintiff against THE CITY OF YONKERS, Defendant", for an injury sustained by plaintiff when being picked up by a van operated by the Office of the Aging taking him to a doctor’s appointment. Plaintiff approached the vehicle to enter, the City driver stayed in the driver seat, and plaintiff opened the van door, climbed into the van, and shut the van doors on his own. When plaintiff shut the van door, he alleges the floor was slippery and he fell on his back, injuring his back. The City driver confirms that he did not assist plaintiff getting into the van, be and the same hereby is approved and the Comptroller of the City of Yonkers is directed to draw his warrant in the amount of Ten Thousand Dollars and 00/100 Cents ($10,000.00) in favor of said plaintiff.
