Title: RESOLUTION – AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO THE 6TH GRADE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY GRANT AGREEMENT WITH WESTCHESTER COUNTY. (POSITIVE FISCAL IMPACT.) (ALL COUNCILMEMBERS.)

RESOLUTION

 

BY COUNCIL PRESIDENT COLLINS-BELLAMY, MAJORITY LEADER  RUBBO, MAJORITY WHIP NORMAN, MINORITY LEADER BREEN, COUNCILMEMBERS, PINEDA-ISAAC, DIAZ AND HODGES:

 

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN INTER-MUNICIPAL AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF YONKERS AND THE COUNTY OF WESTCHESTER TO ACCEPT GRANT FUNDING FOR THE YOUTH BUREAU FOR THE SIXTH GRADE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

WHEREAS, the Westchester County Youth Bureau (the “County”) has awarded a grant of $132,000.00 the City of Yonkers Youth Bureau, acting by and through the City of Yonkers Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation (the “City”), for its 6th Grade Leadership Academy; and

 

WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into an inter-municipal agreement (“IMA”) with the County to accept/implement said grant funding; and

 

WHEREAS, New York State General Municipal Law Article 5-G, Section 119-o, authorizes municipal corporations and districts to enter into agreements for the performance of various functions. 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City be and hereby is authorized to enter into an IMA with the County to accept the grant funding in an approximate amount of $132,000.00, with a required City match of $66,000; and be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the IMA is authorized for one (1) one-year term; and be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the above constitutes a “Type II” action under the State Environmental Quality Review Act (“SEQRA”), and its implementing regulations, 6 NYCRR Part 617, which is an action determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and therefore does not require further environmental review; and be it further

 

RESOLVED, that Mayor or his authorized designee is hereby empowered to execute all instruments and take all actions reasonable and necessary to effectuate the purposes hereof; and be it further

 

RESOLVED, that this resolution will take effect immediately.
