RESOLUTION
BY COUNCIL PRESIDENT COLLINS-BELLAMY, MAJORITY LEADER RUBBO, MAJORITY WHIP NORMAN, MINORITY LEADER BREEN, COUNCILMEMBERS PINEDA-ISAAC, DIAZ, AND HODGES:
RESOLUTION APPROVING AN INTER-MUNICIPAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF YONKERS AND THE COUNTY OF WESTCHESTER FOR THE PRISONER TRANSPORTATION AGREEMENT FOR THE TERM 2026-2027
WHEREAS, in accordance with an agreement between the County of Westchester and the City of Yonkers, the County of Westchester have agreed to terms for a renewed agreement, retroactively commencing January 1, 2026 and terminating December 31, 2027 for the transportation of prisoners between the City of Yonkers and the Westchester County Department of Correction; and
WHEREAS, for the calendar year 2026, the County shall reimburse the City $223.00 per round trip with two detention officers; $334.50 per round trip with three detention officers and $446.00 per round trip with four detention officers; and
WHEREAS, for the calendar year 2027, the County shall reimburse the City $227.45 per round trip with two detention officers; $341.17 per round trip with three detention officers and $454.90 per round trip with four detention officers; and
WHEREAS, the County shall also reimburse the City for other incidentals including mileage and prisoner meals; and
WHEREAS, this agreement is pursuant to Sections 500-c and 500-d of the Corrections Law of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, New York State General Municipal Law Article 5-G, Section 119-o, authorizes municipal corporations and districts to enter into agreements for the performance of various functions; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Prisoner Transportation Agreement between the County of Westchester and the City of Yonkers for the transportation of prisoners between the City of Yonkers and the Westchester County Department of Corrections for the years 2026 through 2027 is hereby approved; and be it further
