BY COUNCIL PRESIDENT COLLINS-BELLAMY, MAJORITY LEADER RUBBO, MAJORITY WHIP NORMAN, MINORITY LEADER BREEN, COUNCILMEMBERS, PINEDA-ISAAC, DIAZ AND MERANTE:

RESOLUTION  AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN INTERMUNICIPAL AGREEMENT WITH WESTCHESTER COUNTY FOR THE ”SEXUAL RISK AVOIDANCE EDUCATION PROGRAM”

WHEREAS, the County of Westchester (“County”) has awarded the City of Yonkers (“City”) with certain pass-through grant funding from the New York State Office of Children and family Services for the Sexual Risk Avoidance Program Grant (“Grant”) to, among other things, normalizes the optimal health behavior of avoiding non-marital sexual activity; and

 

                     WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into an inter-municipal agreement (“IMA”) with the County to accept/implement said grant funding; and

 

                     WHEREAS, New York State General Municipal Law Article 5-G, Section 119-o, authorizes municipal corporations and districts to enter into agreements for the performance of various functions.

 

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City is authorized to enter into an IMA with the County of Westchester for the payment of a sum in the approximate amount of  $32,602.00 to the City for participation in the project; and be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, that the term of the IMA shall be May 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025; and be it further

 

RESOLVED, that Mayor or his authorized designee is hereby empowered to execute all instruments and take all actions reasonable and necessary to effectuate the purposes hereof; and be it further

 

RESOLVED, that this resolution shall take effect immediately.
