RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF YONKERS PROCLAIMING AND RECOGNIZING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER AS "MILITARY FAMILY MONTH" THROUGHOUT THE CITY OF YONKERS.

WHEREAS, the month of November is recognized nationally as Military Family Month to honor and celebrate the commitment, dedication, and sacrifices made by the families of U.S. Armed Forces service members; and
WHEREAS, military families serve alongside their loved ones, enduring frequent relocations, extended deployments, period of separation, and the constant stress of potential harm to their service members; and
WHEREAS, military spouses, children, parents, and caregivers demonstrate exceptional strength, resilience, and adaptability, contributing immeasurably to the readiness and morale of our nation’s military forces; and
WHEREAS, the City of Yonkers is proud to be home to active-duty service members, veterans, reserves, National Guard members, and their families who enrich the social, civic, and economic fabric of our community; and
WHEREAS, recognizing Military Family Month reinforces our city's unwavering commitment to providing robust support services, resources, and community inclusion for all military families residing in Yonkers;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Yonkers City Council hereby proclaims the month of November 2026 as "Military Family Month" throughout the City of Yonkers.
