A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF ADDITIONAL FEDERAL GRANT FUNDING FROM THE NEW YORK STATE DIVISION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT OF $257,032 AND AMENDING THE CITY OF YONKERS GRANT BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2025/2026.

The City of Yonkers in City Council convened, hereby ordains and enacts:

Section 1: The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services has authorized additional federal grant funding of $257,032 to the City of Yonkers acting by and through the Yonkers Police Department, revising the total grant award to $771,087, for the Delinquency Prevention Program 2021 grant. This amendment supports expanded programming for runaway and homeless youth, youth of color, development of alternatives to arrest policies, and community trust-building initiatives.

Section 2: The above constitutes a "Type II" action under SEQRA and its implementing regulations, 6 NYCRR Part 617, which constitute an action determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and therefore requiring no further environmental review.

Section 3: The Mayor of the City or his authorized designee is hereby empowered to execute any and all instruments and take such other actions as may be necessary to effectuate the purposes hereof.

Section 4: The City's Grant Budget for fiscal year 2025/2026 is hereby amended by increasing revenues and appropriations for the Police Department, as follows:
