SPECIAL ORDINANCE

 

BY COUNCIL PRESIDENT COLLINS-BELLAMY, MAJORITY LEADER  RUBBO, MAJORITY WHIP NORMAN, MINORITY LEADER BREEN, COUNCILMEMBERS, PINEDA-ISAAC, DIAZ AND HODGES:

 

A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF STATE 2026/2027 CHIPS GRANT FUNDING FROM THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $202,648 AND AMENDING THE CITY OF YONKERS GRANT BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026/2027.

The City of Yonkers hereby ordains and enacts:

 

                     Section 1: The New York State Department of Transportation has awarded State grant funding of $3,002,648, to the City of Yonkers, acting by and through its Department of Engineering, towards the SFY 2026/2027 CHIPS Grant Program, which provides funding for new roadway pavement to existing streets that have experienced severe wearing due to normal use. The City has already included $2,800,000 in the adopted Fiscal Year 2026/2027 Budget. The award is for an additional $202,648.

 

                     Section 2:  The above constitutes either a “Type II” action under SEQRA and its implementing regulations, 6 NYCRR Part 617, or is not an action under SEQRA, both of which constitute actions determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and therefore do not require further environment review.

 

                     Section 3:  The Mayor or his authorized designee is hereby empowered to execute all instruments and take all actions reasonable and necessary to effectuate the purposes hereof; and be it further

 

Section 4:  The City’s Grant Budget for fiscal year 2026/2027 is hereby amended by increasing revenues and appropriations for the Engineering Department, as follows:
