BY COUNCIL PRESIDENT COLLINS-BELLAMY, MAJORITY LEADER RUBBO, MAJORITY WHIP NORMAN, MINORITY LEADER BREEN, COUNCILMEMBERS PINEDA-ISAAC, DIAZ, AND MERANTE:

A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A $50,000 GRANT ISSUED BY THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY & EMERGENCY SERVICES FOR THE 2022 CYBER SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM FOR USE BY THE YONKERS POLICE DEPARTMENT.

The City of Yonkers hereby ordains and enacts:

                     Section 1: The New York State Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Services has approved a grant to the Yonkers Police Department for the 2022 Cybersecurity Grant Program in the amount of $50,000 which will be used for hardware upgrades and cybersecurity training. 

                     Section 2:  The above constitutes either a “Type II” action under SEQRA and its implementing regulations, 6 NYCRR Part 617, or is not an action under SEQRA, both of which constitute actions determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and therefore do not require further environment review.

                     Section 3:  The Mayor or his authorized designee is hereby empowered to execute all instruments and take all actions reasonable and necessary to effectuate the purposes hereof; and be it further

Section 4:  The City’s Grant Budget for fiscal year 2025/2026 is hereby amended by increasing revenues and appropriations for the Police Department, as follows:

                     Increase Estimated Revenues

                     New York State Department of Homeland Security

                     Section 5:   This Special Ordinance shall take effect immediately.
