RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR A NEW YORK STATE CLIMATE SMART COMMUNITIES GRANT FOR FOOD SCRAP COLLECTION

WHEREAS, the City of Yonkers desires to apply to the New York State Climate Smart Communities Grant Program for a total grant amount of $715,000 pursuant to Environmental Conservation Law Article 54, Title 15 to expand the City’s Food Scrap Collection Program; and
WHEREAS, the City is seeking 80% of costs or $572,000 from New York State with a 20% City match of $143,000
WHEREAS, the City certifies that it has identified $143,000 of matching funds from the City’s capital funds pursuant to the requirements of Environmental Conservation Law Article 54 Title 15.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Yonkers hereby authorizes the Mayor to make a grant application for available funding under the Climate Smart Communities Grant Program for the food scrap collection program; and be it
RESOLVED, that the Mayor or his authorized designee, which shall include members of the Mayor’s Office of Grants Management, is hereby empowered to execute all instruments and take all actions reasonable and necessary to effectuate the purposes hereof; and be it further
RESOLVED, that this resolution shall take effect immediately.
