RESOLUTION INITIATING THE REVIEW TO DETERMINE WHETHER A CERTAIN STREET SHALL BE DECLARED PUBLIC

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Yonkers (the “City Council”) has received a request to declare a certain portion of John F. Kennedy Memorial Driveway, as described more fully in Appendix A (the “Proposed Public Street”), a public street. Appendix A is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and
WHEREAS, it is a rule of procedure of the City Council, pursuant to General City Law § 29, not to approve or disapprove any legislation to change the Official City Map, including declaring a street public, unless and until a review has been conducted and a report has been received from the Planning Board. During the review process, information is gathered from various City departments to assess the request and determine if it is in the best interest of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the initiation of the review to determine whether the Proposed Public Street shall be declared public and directs the City Clerk to forward a copy of this resolution to the Planning Board; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution shall take effect immediately.
