A LOCAL LAW AMENDING CHAPTER 109 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF YONKERS ENTITLED “VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC” IN REGARDS TO REPEALING THE PUBLIC SAFETY FEE.

BE IT ENACTED, by the City Council of the City of Yonkers, as
follows:
Section 1. Chapter 109 of the Code of the City of Yonkers entitled “Vehicles and Traffic” is amended, in part, by deleting Subsection X of Section 109-45, entitled “Owner liability for failure of operator to comply with traffic-control indications.” to read as follows:
§ 109-45. Owner liability for failure of operator to comply with traffic-control indications.
X. There shall be a Public Safety Fee for the purpose of promoting and protecting the safety and well being of the residents and visitors to the City of Yonkers, including but not limited to traffic safety, policing security and deterring illegal and reckless driving. This fee shall be collected in like manner as administrative fees by the Parking Violations Bureau or the Bureau of Administrative Adjudication but shall only be collected from tickets issued for a violation of §109-45. The amount of the fee shall be $15.00.
Section 2. This Local Law shall take effect pursuant to requirements of law upon filing with the Secretary of State.
