RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF YONKERS AND THE COUNTY OF WESTCHESTER RELATED TO SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL FOR DESIGNATED COUNTY ROADS, 2025-2030

WHEREAS, the County of Westchester has submitted a five-year agreement commencing as of October 1, 2025 and terminating September 30, 2030 for the removal of snow and ice from designated County roads within the municipality; and
WHEREAS, the City is in compliance with the 208 Water Quality Program; and
WHEREAS, the County will compensate the City at established rates, which increase annually; and
WHEREAS, New York State General Municipal Law Article 5-G, Section 119-o, authorizes municipal corporations and districts to enter into agreements for the performance of various functions; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the intermunicipal agreement between the County of Westchester and the City of Yonkers for snow and ice removal from certain designated County roads for the years 2025-2030 is hereby approved; and be it further,
RESOLVED, that the above constitutes a “Type II” action under the State Environmental Quality Review Act (“SEQRA”), and its implementing regulations, 6 NYCRR Part 617, which is an action determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and therefore does not require further environment review; and be it further
RESOLVED, that Mayor or his authorized designee is hereby empowered to execute all instruments and take all actions reasonable and necessary to effectuate the purposes hereof; and be it further
RESOLVED, that this resolution will take effect immediately.
