SPECIAL ORDINANCE

 

BY COUNCIL PRESIDENT COLLINS-BELLAMY, MAJORITY LEADER  RUBBO, MAJORITY WHIP NORMAN, MINORITY LEADER BREEN, COUNCILMEMBERS, PINEDA-ISAAC, DIAZ AND HODGES:

 

A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF FEDERAL 2026 HOME GRANT YEAR 52 FUNDING FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,294,624.01 AND AMENDING THE CITY OF YONKERS GRANT BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026/2027.

The City of Yonkers hereby ordains and enacts:

 

                     Section 1: The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development has authorized Federal grant funding of $1,294,624.01, to the City of Yonkers, acting by and through its Department of Planning & Development, towards the 2026 Home Grant Year 52 Grant Program, which provides funding for housing economic development.

                     

                     Section 2: The above constitutes a “Type II” action under SEQRA and its implementing regulations, 6 NYCRR Part 617, which constitute an action determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and therefore requiring no further environmental review.

 

Section 3:   The Mayor of the City or his authorized designee is hereby empowered to execute any and all instruments and take such other actions as may be necessary to effectuate the purposes hereof.

 

Section 4:   The City’s Grant Budget for fiscal year 2026/2027 is hereby amended by increasing revenues and appropriations for the Department of Planning & Development, as follows:

Section 5:  This ordinance shall take effect immediately.
