RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF YONKERS AND THE COUNTY OF WESTCHESTER RELATING TO THE WESTCHESTER COUNTY ANTI-TRAFFICKING TASK FORCE PROGRAM GRANT ($45,000)

WHEREAS, Westchester County, acting by and through the DA’s Office, has been awarded a grant from the United States Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, to operate the Westchester County Anti-Trafficking Task Force Program (the “Program”); and
WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into an Inter-Municipal Agreement (IMA) with the City of Yonkers to accept and implement $45,000 in grant funding related to the Program; and
WHEREAS, the goals of the Program are to improve law enforcement’s ability to identify victims of human trafficking, develop new partnerships and information sharing initiatives with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, improve and sustain investigative and intelligence gathering methods, improve information sharing protocols with victim service providers, and enhance prosecution strategies; and
WHEREAS, New York State General Municipal Law Article 5-G, Section 119-o, authorizes municipal corporations and districts to enter into agreements for the performance of various functions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City is authorized to enter into an Inter-Municipal Agreement, for a five year period, with the County of Westchester for the payment of a sum in the approximate amount of forty-five thousand dollars ($45,000.00) to the City for participation in the Westchester County Anti-Trafficking Task Force Program; and be it further;
RESOLVED, that the above constitutes a “Type II” action under the State Environmental Quality Review Act (“SEQRA”), and its implementing regulations, 6 NYCRR Part 617, which is an action determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and therefore does not require further environmental review; and be it further
RESOLVED, that Mayor or his authorized designee is hereby empowered to execute all instruments and take all actions reasonable and necessary to effectuate the purposes hereof; and be it further
RESOLVED, that this resolution shall take effect immediately.
