A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY SERVICES FY 2023 TACTICAL TEAM GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $75,000 AND AMENDING THE CITY OF YONKERS GRANT BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2025/2026.

The City of Yonkers hereby ordains and enacts:

                     

Section 1: New York State has authorized State grant funding of $75,000 to the City of Yonkers, acting by and through its Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (NYS DHS&ES) towards the FY2023 Tactical Team Grant, which provides funding to the Yonkers Police Department to improve and develop tactical team capabilities through equipment, training, exercise, and planning projects that support counter terrorism missions, as well as sustainment of the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) SWAT Team Standards

                     

                     Section 2: The above constitutes a “Type II” action under SEQRA and its implementing regulations, 6 NYCRR Part 617, which constitute an action determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and therefore requiring no further environmental review.

 

Section 3:   The Mayor of the City or his authorized designee is hereby empowered to execute any and all instruments and take such other actions as may be necessary to effectuate the purposes hereof.

 

Section 4:   The City’s Grant Budget for fiscal year 2025/2026 is hereby amended by increasing revenues and appropriations for the Police Department, as follows:
