A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF FUNDING FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE (USDOJ), OFFICE OF JUSTICE PROGRAMS, THROUGH THE WESTCHESTER COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE FOR THE WESTCHESTER COUNTY ANTI TRAFFICKING TASK FORCE PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $45,000, AND AMENDING THE CITY OF YONKERS GRANT BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2025/2026.

The City of Yonkers hereby ordains and enacts:

                     

Section 1: The United States Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, has awarded grant funding to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office to operate the Westchester County Anti-Trafficking Task Force Program. The District Attorney’s Office has authorized the City of Yonkers, acting by and through the City of Yonkers Police Department, to receive up to $45,000 over a five-year period to reimburse overtime expenses incurred by YPD personnel participating in human-trafficking investigations conducted jointly with the Task Force.

                     

                     Section 2: The above constitutes a “Type II” action under SEQRA and its implementing regulations, 6 NYCRR Part 617, which constitute an action determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and therefore requiring no further environmental review.

 

Section 3:   The Mayor of the City of Yonkers or his authorized designee is hereby empowered to execute the Intermunicipal Agreement (IMA) with the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office and any and all other instruments and documents and take such other actions as may be necessary to effectuate the purposes hereof.

 

Section 4:   The City’s Grant Budget for fiscal year 2025/2026 is hereby amended by increasing revenues and appropriations for the Police Department, as follows:
