RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF YONKERS AND THE YONKERS FIREFIGHTERS, LOCAL 628, IAFF, AFL-CIO

WHEREAS, the City and Local 628 are parties to a collective bargaining agreement covering the period July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2009, as modified by a Memorandum of Agreement covering the period July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2019, as modified by a Memorandum of Agreement covering the period July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2024 (collectively the “CBA”); and
WHEREAS, the City and Local 628 desire to adjust the compensation as defined in Article 4 of the CBA that is paid to the President of Local 628 while on “full release” from his/her firefighting duties and/or other Departmental assignments, consistent with the compensation paid to the President of the Yonkers Police Benevolent Association; and
WHEREAS, in order to further harmonious labor relations between the City and Local 628, the City and Local 628 desire to amend the financial compensation of the Local 628 President; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the attached Memorandum of Agreement dated June 10, 2025 between the City of Yonkers and the Yonkers Firefighters, Local 628, IAFF, AFL-CIO, which amends the terms and conditions relating to the financial compensation of the Local 628 President, is hereby approved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the above constitutes a “Type II” action under the State Environmental Quality Review Act and its implementing regulations, 6 NYCRR Part 617, which is an action determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and, therefore, does not require further environmental review.
