A GENERAL ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 109-160 OF ARTICLE XVII, CHAPTER 109, PART 2, ARTICLE XVII OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF YONKERS RELATING TO PENALTIES FOR PARKING VIOLATIONS

BE IT ENACTED, by the City Council of the City of Yonkers, as follows:
Section 1. Recitals
To discourage parking illegally within the Yonkers City Council finds it necessary to amend § 109-160 of the Charter as follows:
Section 2. Amendments
The Schedule of Violations and Fees in Chapter 109, Part 2, Article XVII of the Code of the City of Yonkers, “Vehicle and Traffic; Penalties and Fees,” is hereby amended by increasing the penalties for the following parking offenses as follows:
§ 109-160. B. Penalties for offenses; towing and storage fees
Type of Violation:
Parking in driveway, public or private $50 $100
Parked alongside curb cut $50 $100
Parked on sidewalk $80 $160
Parked within 15 feet of Fire Hydrant $70 $125
Parked for vehicle repair, except emergency $50 $125
Double-parked $90 $150
Double-parked commuting hours (Mon. - Fri. 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., excluding holidays) $100
Section 3. This general ordinance shall take effect in accordance with law.
