A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES PUBLIC SAFETY PROGRAM 2024-25 GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $100,000 AND AMENDING THE CITY OF YONKERS GRANT BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024/2025.

The City of Yonkers hereby ordains and enacts:
Section 1: New York State has authorized State grant funding of $100,000 to the City of Yonkers, acting by and through its Department of Criminal Justice Services (NYSDCJS) towards the Public Safety Program 2024-25 Grant, which provides funding the Yonkers Police Department to deploy additional police resources to combat gang, gun, and public space violence.
Section 2: The above constitutes a “Type II” action under SEQRA and its implementing regulations, 6 NYCRR Part 617, which constitute an action determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and therefore requiring no further environmental review.
Section 3: The Mayor of the City or his authorized designee is hereby empowered to execute any and all instruments and take such other actions as may be necessary to effectuate the purposes hereof.
Section 4: The City’s Grant Budget for fiscal year 2024/2025 is hereby amended by increasing revenues and appropriations for the Police Department, as follows:

Section 5: This ordinance shall take effect immediately.
