RESOLUTION SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR JANUARY 28, 2025, AT 7:00 P.M. PURSUANT TO SECTION 43-165 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF YONKERS IN RELATION TO AMENDING THE ZONING CODE OF THE CITY OF YONKERS.

WHEREAS, In order to allow for the Building Department to more effectively enforce the Yonkers Zoning Code to protect the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the City of Yonkers the Yonkers City Council deems it necessary to enact the following amendment to the definition of the term “Family” as contained in the Yonkers Zoning Code.
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Section 43-165 of the Yonkers Zoning Code this General Ordinance was referred to the Westchester County and Yonkers Planning Boards for their review and report.
WHEREAS, On October 28, 2024 the Westchester County Planning Board reported that this was a matter of local concern and provided no opinion with regard to the Amendment.
WHEREAS, On December 11, 2024 the Yonkers Planning Board reported that it declined to opine with regard to the Amendment.
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Section 43-165 of the Yonkers Zoning Code the City Council must conduct a Public Hearing in order to adopt this Amendment to the Zoning Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Yonkers hereby calls for a public hearing at 7:00 PM, on the 28th day of January 2025, in the Council Chambers at Yonkers City Hall, for all interested persons to be heard in favor of or in opposition to the proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Code of the City of Yonkers; and be it further
RESOLVED, that this resolution shall take effect immediately.
