RESOLUTION - ADVICE AND CONSENT TO THE APPOINTMENT OF MARK V. TERRITO TO THE POSITION OF DEPUTY COMMISSIONER OF PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT.

WHEREAS, Mayor Mike Spano has appointed Mark V. Territo to be the next Deputy Commissioner of Planning and Development for the City of Yonkers; and
WHEREAS, the Deputy Commissioner designee is an accomplished municipal government professional with 24 years of expertise in land use development, zoning, site planning, and legal aspects of government operations, having most recently served as Commissioner of Planning and Development for the Town of Clay, New York since 2007, and prior to that as a Senior Planner for the City of Albany; and
WHEREAS, the Deputy Commissioner designee has a strong background in community and economic development, organizational development, and financial management, including but not limited to driving key initiatives for suburban town of 60,000 residents, spearheading the amendment of the Town Zoning Ordinance, successfully supervising the planning and construction of an Amazon distribution facility; and
WHEREAS, the Deputy Commissioner designee possesses all of the qualifications, experience and training necessary to assist in guiding this Department and the City in its continued growth, development and prosperity; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section C3-2(7) of the Charter of the City of Yonkers, the appointment of the Deputy Commissioner of Planning and Development is subject to the advice and consent of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Yonkers that the City Council give advice and consent to the appointment of Mark V. Territo, as Deputy Commissioner of Planning and Development.
