A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF STATE GRANT FUNDING FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE FORESTRY SERVICE IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000,000 AND AMENDING THE CITY OF YONKERS GRANT BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024/2025.

The City of Yonkers hereby ordains and enacts:
Section 1: The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forestry Service has authorized federal grant funding of $1,000,000, through the Urban and Community Forestry Grants 2023 program, to the City of Yonkers, acting by and through the City of Yonkers Department of Planning & Development.
Section 2: The above constitutes a “Type II” action under SEQRA and its implementing regulations, 6 NYCRR Part 617, which constitute an action determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and therefore requiring no further environmental review.
Section 3: The Mayor of the City or his authorized designee is hereby empowered to execute any and all instruments and take such other actions as may be necessary to effectuate the purposes hereof.
Section 4: The City’s Grant Budget for fiscal year 2024/2025 is hereby amended by increasing revenues and appropriations for the Yonkers Department of Planning & Development from the previously approved amount, as follows:

Section 5: This ordinance shall take effect immediately.
